Many people have asked us, “How do I start a web site? What do I need to do?”

In fact, the most common factor when a business does not have a web site, is the unknown. People do not know what to do, how to get started, and where to go for help. The second factor is that people think it has to cost thousands of dollars. For those of you with little or no clue, do not worry - help is at hand.

Here’s a brief list, that we would be pleased to discuss with you:

  • You need to come up with a name for your web site, which is not already being used by someone else. (this is called the domain name).

  • You need a place to store the information (a hosting company). We primarily use GoDaddy.com Hosting Plans , because they offer more features, are very reasonably priced and their customer service is excellent. Check the links on this page.

  • You need someone to create the web site code (a company like Classic Insight, for example).

  • Then you need that code sent to the hosting company (again, we would like you to consider Classic Insight).

Now of course, a web site could cost you thousands of dollars, but that really depends on how much information you intend having on the web site. The average small business web site can cost anywhere from $500 to $5,000.

Our honest advice is to call us to discuss your ideas and project requirements. Only then will you have an idea of the estimated cost.
