Classic Insight - Photo Enhancements

There are many different facets of Photo Enhancement, from the removing a freckle on someone’s face, to full colorization of an old black and white photograph.

We cover some of them here on our web site, but please contact us if you do not see your own particular requirement covered in these pages. Most likely we will be able to help.

Alterations: As in our example, we can take a smile from one photograph, and add it into another. We can remove freckles, bags under the eyes, and skin scars.

Colorization: Do you remember the color
of your first car in that old black and white photo? Do you have color memories of yesteryear’s black and white photo? We
can add color to those photos, like this.

Photo Enhancements

Digitalization: There are an increasing number of people who want their photo print collection transferred onto CD or DVD. It’s not a quick process, and not an inexpensive project, especially as some collections number into the thousands, but it can be done.

Restoration: Occasionally our special photos get damaged through the passage of time, or mishandling. Tears and creases can be restored, as you can see here.

Pricing: We afford all projects the same care and meticulous detail. No two projects are the same, and we would not attempt to clump them together into categories, in order to provide generic pricing which may not reflect the work involved. All requests will be reviewed and an estimate prepared for your project.

Review & Estimate: We ask you to provide us with a copy of the photo(s) by e-mail. This is for review only, so just scan the photo, and send as an e-mail attachment. If
you do not have a scanner, a copy service like Kinko’s or Copy Max would be able to provide you with that service. You should also supply us with the dimensions of the original photograph.

The Project: For the actual project, we need to have the best quality scan you can provide, or the original photograph (see note below). It is important for you to appreciate, that we build upon the starting image. We can fix things, but we are not miracle workers (although some clients believe we are!). We can not, for example, create an 8”x10” color photo from a 1”x2” black and white photo-booth photo.

Please Note: that any time you mail a photo using regular mail services, we can not be responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail. If the photo is valuable to you, please package with adequate support and protection, and if necessary take out insurance.
